Tony & Jan Parton Take First Place at Lake Jordan

From Division 1 Couples Central Alabama DATE March 6, 2010 is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $585.00  in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on Lake Jordan this past weekend.  Five bass limit weighed in at 15.42. Second place went to Lynn Oswalt and Linda Smith with a weight of 12.50, third place was Erick & Lori Sommers with a weight of 10.76. Woman’s big bass was awarded was to Dimple Clevinger for catching a 3.67 pound large mouth. Men’s big bass went to Steve Thompson with a 4.14 large mouth.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their birth in division’s two-day champion and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held this fall.  Their points are also being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. The top angler by points earned in this division will represent the division in the Angler of the Year final round.

The top five Couples were:
1. Tony & Jan Parton              15.42 Lbs.
2. Lynn Oswalt & Linda Smith   12.50 Lbs.
3. Erick & Lori Sommers           10.76 Lbs.
4. Ricky & Allison Spratlin          9.60 Lbs.
5. Steve & Kristie Thompson      4.14 Lbs.

Conditions: blue bird sky, 5 to 10 mph winds, low of 28, high of 62, water temp 46 to 50

Winning Strategy: Jerk Bait

Next Divisional Tournament: This division’s next tournament will be March 27, 2010 at Lay Lake/Bees Wax Boat Ramp.
