Cole and Janella Garrett Take First Place at Black Lake

From Division 14, 2/28/10, Louisiana Central......Cole and Janella Garrett, of Winnfield, LA, are now one step closer to the American Couples Series Championship with their 1st Place win and $425.00 in the American Couples Series Team tournament held on Black Lake. Cole and Janella Garrett's 4 bass limit weighed in at 12.59 pounds. The second place team was Jerry and Rachel Pate, from Heflin, LA,  with a weight of 9.28 pounds. The third place team was Cameron Pate and Kayla Burge from Heflin, LA with a total weight of 8.60 pounds. Big bass was awarded to Cole and Janella Garrett with a 5.53 pound bass.

These teams are acquiring valuable points to insure their birth in National Championship that will be held this fall.

The top four teams were:
1. Cole & Janella Garrett            12.59 lbs.
2. Jerry Pate & Rachel Pate         9.28 lbs.
3. Cameron & Kayla Burge           8.60 lbs.
4. Greg & Desiree Lang               1.61 lbs.

Conditions: Cold start to the morning with water temps starting about 47 degrees & warming up to 52 degrees.

Winning Strategy: Fishing shallow away about 10 feet from the Cypress trees.

Next Divisional Tournament: This division’s next tournament will be 3/21 on Saline/Larto Lake at Woodson’s Landing.
